Greene promoted allegations that deadly mass shootings across the country were staged
Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene gained a reputation for his loyalty to the former president Donald trump. Greene has continually encouraged false pro-Trump conspiracy theories, and more recently she has liked social media posts that aligned with extreme right-wing extremist ideologies.
According to Newsweek, Greene was sworn in in Congress on January 3 with nearly 75% of the vote in the November election. She ran in a deeply conservative congressional district in Georgia. Despite this, a FiveThirtyEight poll on Friday shows Greene is less popular nationally.
Polls show 20% of Republicans disapprove of Greene compared to 24% who approve of him. The remaining 56% were either ignorant or undecided.
Overall, 37% disagreed while 15% were in favor based on surveys from YouGov / The Economist, SurveyMonkey / Axios and Morning Consult / Politico.

Greene liked social media posts calling for the assassination of notable Democratic figures, including the former president Barack obama, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
She also allegedly used social media to promote claims that the deadly mass shootings in Parkland, Florida, Newton, Connecticut and Las Vegas were all staged.
The Democratic-controlled House lobbied for Greene’s removal from committee assignments on Thursday due to his history of racial and violent comments. According to Democracy now, she declined to apologize for her comments.

“I agree to be kicked out of my committees because it would be a waste of time. I’ve been released … you know what’s going on in these committees? You see, we have essentially a tyrannical controlled government right now, ”Greene said at a press conference on Friday.
219 Democrats and 11 Republicans voted in favor of his impeachment against 199 Republicans who voted against, according to Democracy Now.
