On Tuesday morning, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban presented Buffalo Bill wide receiver Cole Beasley with an offer he may not be able to refuse: a share of Pfizer shares for his wife.
Only if Beasley keeps his promise to get the COVID-19 shot and encourages others to get the shot on his social media accounts.
Pfizer was trading around $ 41 at the closing bell. Cuba’s appeal tweet disguised as a proposal came after Beasley’s tongue-in-cheek response to a ProFootballTalk tweet about NFL vaccine incentives.
“I’m going to get vaccinated and champion this cause if Pfizer puts a percentage of its vaccine revenue on my wife’s behalf,” the recipient tweeted.
Beasley has expressed his contempt for the NFL and NFLPA’s COVID-19 protocols and his refusal to be vaccinated. He caused a stir in June when he said in a statement on Twitter that he would try his luck with the virus by eating better, drinking more water, and doing what he deemed “necessary to be a healthy individual.” healthy”.
“I can die of covid, but I’d rather die alive,” Beasley wrote in the statement.
NFL protocols are the strictest for unvaccinated personnel. Vaccinated people exposed to the virus will not have to go into quarantine if exposed to the virus, while those who are not vaccinated must. Unless employees on the NFL team have a religious or medical reason not to be vaccinated, the NFL has said it will not allow such people access to “football-only” areas.
Beasley said the NFLPA was “kidding” for its protocols for unvaccinated players before sending out a series of tweets about his problems with the new guidelines.
If Beasley doesn’t accept Cuba’s offer and get the shot, he will join Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold as another unvaccinated NFL player. Darnold admitted at an OTA press conference in June that he had not received the blow.
“I haven’t been vaccinated yet,” Darnold told reporters. “Again, it’s up to everyone to decide if they want to be vaccinated or not. That’s really all I have on this, I don’t want to go into detail, but yes, I haven’t been vaccinated yet.
Much like Beasley’s comments, Darnold’s confession caused quite a stir. Beasley could go unvaccinated until the next NFL season. If so, his wife will miss that 3.78% Pfizer dividend offered by Cuba. The vaccine maker traded at $ 41 at the closing bell on Tuesday.
