Billionaire Shark Tank investor Mark Cuban shared his idea of what he will do when the price of bitcoin hits $ 1 million. Cuban says he will run for president, but only if bitcoins are donated to the treasury so that every citizen receives satoshis for every year they are in office. He will ask them to keep the parts for 10 years.
Mark Cuban plans to become president when Bitcoin hits $ 1 million
Shark Tank star Mark Cuban tweeted about Bitcoin and the US presidential election on Tuesday in response to a thread started by Virgin Galactic Chairman Chamath Palihapitiya. The owner of the National Basketball Association (NBA) Dallas Mavericks wrote:
I will run if BTC gets to $ 1 million and we can commit to donating 350 BTC to the treasury each of the 4 years so that we can give 1 satoshi to each citizen each year, which they have to keep for 10 years.
The Shark Tank star first tweeted “1 satoshi”, but then made a correction, stating: “This represents 100 satoshis per citizen per year”. One bitcoin is equivalent to 100 million satoshis.
Palihapitiya kicked off the thread on Twitter, saying, “There will be a viable third political party in the United States by 2030. Centrist, pragmatic, and cut off the bullshit. The current system is so broken that you can only sustain it through a combination of willful blindness and stupidity. Cuban replied, “Why do we really need political parties?” Palihapitiya replied “probably not if you would run …”
The comments flooded the thread with many applauding Cuban for truly running for President of the United States in 2024. Some commentators have suggested that Palihapitiya or pro-UBI Andrew Yang could be the vice president.
The president of Virgin Galactic has long been pro Bitcoin. He has repeatedly said that the price of bitcoin could reach $ 1 million and everyone should own BTC, advocating having at least 1% of wallets in cryptocurrency. Palihapitiya himself has a plan when the price of bitcoin hits $ 150,000. He tweeted on December 30:
When BTC hits $ 150,000, I’ll buy the Hamptons and convert them into children’s overnight camps, working farms, and low-cost housing.
Cuba’s opinion on bitcoin was not always positive. He previously said he “would rather have bananas than bitcoin,” pointing out that he could at least eat a banana. In December, Cuban began to show a gradual increase in the appreciation of the cryptocurrency, arguing that bitcoin was “a store of value like gold,” but added that it “is more of a religion than a solution to any problem ”. Then his Dallas Mavericks started offering discounts on goods to customers paying with Bitcoin.
