It was a society of mutual admiration on Twitter like Peyton Reed, who led The Mandalorianseason 2 finale, and Star wars icon Mark Hamill reflected fondly on their collaboration that sparked the water cooler of pop culture December 18.

Hamill responded on Saturday by telling Reed, “I am so grateful that I had the unexpected opportunity to see my character again when he was still a symbol of hope and optimism. Your assured direction and kindness was a crucial part of the experience and means more to me than I can say. #Thank you.”
Hamill of course reprized his original role. Star wars Luke Skywalker of the trilogy in the third and final trio of films, though this timeline found Luke as a grizzled, brooding Jedi Master who was reluctant to train the Rey wannabes.
Hamill had previously sent his gratitude to Mandalorian executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, tweeting at the end of the year, “Sometimes the greatest gifts are the most unexpected and something you never realized you wanted until they were.” given. #ThankYouJonAndDave. “
