During a new Twitch session, Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus shared more details about his recent cancer diagnosis, including the type and stage he’s battling.
The musician revealed at Q + A, which took place on July 13, that he was officially diagnosed in late April with stage 4-A diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, which is a type of cancer his mother has. had already fought and beat.
Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma is the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma worldwide, according to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, and more than 18,000 people are diagnosed with the disease each year. It attacks white blood cells, essential to help the body fight infections.
“It has entered enough parts of my body that I am at stage 4, which is, I think, as high as possible,” he said, later adding that he remained positive about his prognosis. .
Earlier in the discussion, he described his experiences with chemotherapy, comparing the feeling of the first round to being a zombie electrocuted by a fence or a taser. The second time around, he felt weak and like he had a bad flu. The third time he received chemotherapy was when he started to have nausea and nausea.

Even though the chemotherapy did work, he said he would be given three more cycles just to make sure she was completely eradicated from his body.
“If I go tomorrow and they say ‘It works a little bit, we think it works’, we’ll see. Then I’ll do three more laps, I think. And if they say,’ Hey well, it’s really not working as we had hoped, “so I have to go talk about other options. Which I guess means a bone marrow transplant.”
