Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has quietly acquired $ 59 million on two private estates on the west coast of Tahoe, as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
A controversial figure about how social media has disrupted notions of privacy, Zuckerberg used a limited liability company, a wealth manager and confidentiality agreements to try to protect transactions from public view, said the newspaper. The 34-year-old tech technician has amassed a robber-worthy complex at the famous alpine lake, renowned for its deep, clear blue waters, pristine beaches and ski resorts.
Of course, $ 59 million could seem like a drop in water to Zuckerberg, which has a net worth of $ 71.5 billion, making it the eighth richest person in the world, according to Forbes.
Both areas, called Brushwood Estate and Carousel Estate, were already on the market in 2017, as Fox notes. According to public records, Brushwood originally belonged to novelist Stewart Edward White and his previous owner was San Francisco philanthropist Tamara Fritz.
The main house has six bedrooms, five full baths, two half baths and an area of 5,322 square feet. It has a guest house of 2293 square feet with two bedrooms and two and a half baths.
