Marriott CEO Starts Treatment for Pancreatic Cancer

Marriott International, the world's largest hotel company, revealed Friday that its president and CEO, Arne Sorenson, had been diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer and would begin treatment next week.

The hotel manager will continue to work during chemotherapy; his doctors are planning surgery by the end of 2019. He was diagnosed with a medical team from the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Marriott is headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland.
