Marvel is rolling out a brand new version of its Marvel Unlimited comic book subscription app. Among the updates are the exclusive Infinity Comics, which are high-resolution vertical comics designed for phones and tablets. Initially, 27 Infinity Comics are available, and you should have access to over 100 by the end of the year. The comics include series such as X-Men Unlimited, Captain America, Black Widow, Deadpool, Shang-Chi, and Venom / Carnage.
The app, which has been completely redesigned with help from Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution, now offers unlimited downloads for offline playback and a way to share content elsewhere. Marvel promises streamlined design, more stability, “the best speed and research tools” and personalized reading guides to suit your preferences. Marvel Insider members will also receive rewards for using the app.
The monthly plan costs $ 10 / month, while the standard annual option is $ 69 / year. The annual subscription over $ 99 / year includes all the benefits of a monthly or regular annual plan, plus a membership kit, invitations to in-person events, and a discount in the Disney digital store.
Marvel Unlimited hosts over 29,000 comic book issues, with more being added every week. However, there is at least a three-month gap between the titles on the shelves and Marvel bringing them to the app.
This is a welcome update for an app that may have been late for a refresh. So you watched Marvel’s What if…? series on Disney + (or anything else in the Marvel Cinematic Universe) and are curious about the comics as well, it seems like now is a good time to try out Marvel Unlimited.
Update 9/9 at 11:15 am ET: Subscription details clarified.
