Humanity loves good stacks and Marvel’s Avengers became the whip of the games industry last year. The cooperative brawler – who was above average at best, let’s face it – has drawn anger for all kinds of reasons, from his console-exclusive Spider-Man silver hat to his expensive cosmetic costumes. One thing developer Crystal Dynamics has promised, however, is that it will restrict microtransactions to outfits – so it’s perhaps not surprising that the community is being harmed by the addition of paid XP boosters and resources.

Available in the version’s in-game store, Consumable Boosters can be purchased with a currency called Credits, which must be acquired with real money through the PS Shop. It should be noted that these work as accelerators, increasing the amount of XP or resources you gain during play. Some fans are particularly frustrated because recent fixes have reduced the amount of XP gained during normal play. , and the introduction of these paid boosters feels like a Captain America kick to the Crown Jewels.

A quick glance at the official Reddit page for the release, for example, reveals everything: The community is absolutely livid. Many point to comments made just over a year ago during the initial release of Superhero: Coming. the recent Black Panther DLC, but for many, these boosters represent a misstep too many.
