Marvel's Shang-Chi film has found its director and his team of writers

While Marvel continues to move forward with his selection of more cosmic films, like End of Game and Eternalsis also progress with Shang-Chi feature that, given the representation of the character in the comics, could be much more grounded.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Destin Daniel Cretton (Short term 12, the glass castle) was put to use to lead Shang-Chi with Dave Callaham (Wonder Woman 1984, Spider-Man: in the Spider-Verse 2) attached to write the script. Deadline indicates that Marvel Studios plans to Shang-Chi to explore aspects of American-Asian identity in a story borrowed from Marvel's comics, where Shang-Chi is the biracial son of Fu Manchu and ignores that his father is a villain.

No additional details on the film have been announced yet, but we'll keep you informed as we learn more.
