The second week of 'DWTS' means the first elimination. The last two couples were revealed and it was up to the judges to save a couple back home. In addition, Hannah Brown took first place in the standings.

Dance with the stars makes some changes during the second week of season 28. In addition to the text vote, the judges will have the power to save one of the last two couples. The first pair is James Van Der Beek and Emma Slater, who got the highest score of last week. Their cha-cha is fun and energetic. James can really move those hips! "Another solid performance" Len Goodman said. However, he admits that he's not a fan of the "gadgets" of performance. Bruno Tonioli note that James missed a step, but notes that he was "so clean and so accurate." Carrie Ann Inaba raves, "It was a fantastic way to start the night." James and Emma scores: Carrie Ann = 7; Len = 6; and Bruno = 7. Total score = 20.

The next step is Sailor Brinkley Cook and Val Chmerkovskiy. This time, they have a whole week to practice. When Val says they dance the rumba, a very sexy dance, Sailor says, "My boyfriend is going to kill me." Their rumba is good but there is no fireworks between them. Bruno gives him a hard love. "You have to play the role and dance," he says. Carrie says Sailor "lacks consistency," but she "moves wonderfully well." Len says it's "a very good performance." The scores of Sailor and Val: Carrie Ann = 6; Len = 6; and Bruno = 6. Total score = 18.

Ray Lewis and Cheryl Burke let's dance the foxtrot this week. Despite the joy on his face, Ray is heavy on his feet. Carrie says he's "so nice to watch," but he's made "tons of mistakes" in his performance. Len notes that Ray was "barefoot" and that "only your personality has given you the rating you have". Scores of Ray and Cheryl: Carrie Ann = 5; Len = 5; and Bruno = 5. Total score = 15.

Ally Brooke and Sasha Farber dance the Viennese waltz. Ally explains how "bad" people were with her online when she was in Fifth Harmony and called her the "worst dancer in the group". Ally admits that intimidation "m" completely broke the trust. " The Viennese Waltz of Ally and Sasha is graceful and handsome. At the end of the performance, Ally starts crying. Len told him that the performance was "pretty" but "technically, it was not so good." Bruno assures that Ally knows she can dance and gives him some criticism to improve. Carrie Ann comes from behind the judges' table and hugs her. Scores of Ally and Sasha: Carrie Ann = 7; Len = 6; and Bruno = 7. Total score = 20.

Mary Wilson and Brandon Armstrong dance a cha-cha glamor. It's always hard to believe she's 75 years old. Carrie Ann mentions that Mary had "many small mistakes". Len is a fan of Mary's and tells her that "it's a joy" to see her out. Scores of Mary and Brandon: Carrie Ann = 5; Len = 5; and Bruno = 5. Total score = 15. Lauren Alaina and Gleb Savchenko Hit the ballroom with a fierce and confident doble paso. Carrie Ann tells Lauren that she was good but that she needs consistency throughout the show. Bruno springs out: "I loved it, darling … It was a very strong and concentrated performance." Lauren and Gleb scores: Carrie Ann = 6; Len = 6; and Bruno = 7. Total score = 19.

Sean Spicer and Lindsay Arnold are given a tango this week. Fortunately, Sean decides to leave the neon green ruffled shirt at home this week. The performance is steep but Lindsay does what she can. Len says it was "better than last week". Bruno tells the pair, "I have to admit it sounded like a tango." Sean and Lindsay scores: Carrie Ann = 6; Len = 5; and Bruno = 5. Total score = 16.

Karamo Brown and Jenna Johnson Kill with a fun and fierce quickstep. Despite a contact with the lost body, Bruno marveled at the "very very fast not really good" of Karamo. Carrie springs: "You're electrifying when you go out on the dance floor." Len, always carrying bad news, admits not overestimated. Results of Karamo and Jenna: Carrie Ann = 7; Len = 5; and Bruno = 7. Total score = 19.

Kate Flannery and Pasha Pachkov surprise everyone with their incredible fox. Kate really enjoys the dance floor. "It was incredible," says Carrie. "I'm blown away by your technique." Kate even receives a compliment from Len! "You did a great job," he told him. The Kate and Pasha scores: Carrie Ann = 7; Len = 7; and Bruno = 7. Total score = 21.

Kel Mitchell and Witney Carson are given a samba this week. Kel had a lot to do in addition to rehearsals. His father had surgery on the brain. It's OK but the week has been stressful. Their samba is sexy and full of life. "Overall, I thought it was a very good job," says Len. Bruno notes that Kel has "talent" and Carrie says she can "really see an improvement". The Kel and Witney scores: Carrie Ann = 7; Len = 6; and Bruno = 7. Total score = 20.

The penultimate representation of the night comes from Lamar Odom and Peta Murgatroyd. He explains how he almost lost his life 4 years ago. After his hospitalization, Lamar suffered 12 strokes and 6 heart attacks. He swears he did not use drugs that night in Las Vegas. He has recovered completely but suffers from short-term memory loss. They dance salsa at week 2. Bruno tells Lamar that he can "see a progression" and that he has made a "small step in the right direction". Len once again congratulates Peta on her choreography. "I did not see any mistakes in the routine," says Len, adding that Lamar still had some way to go, but you're on the right track. Scores of Lamar and Peta: Carrie Ann = 4; Len = 4; and Bruno = 4. Total score = 12.

Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten are the last couples of the night to occur and they dance a romantic Viennese waltz. You can not take their eyes off them. Chris Harrison give them a standing ovation. Carrie Ann admits that Hannah's performance was "ridiculously good". Len acknowledges that he wanted more natural terms, but said it was the "best dance of the night". Bruno calls the routine "fantastic". Hannah and Alan's sheet music: Carrie Ann = 8; Len = 8; and Bruno = 8. Total score = 24. These two are now at the top of the rankings!

The first couples declared safe and sound are Lamar and Peta. James and Emma will also be back next week, along with Ally and Sasha. Karamo and Jenna will be dancing next week with Sean and Lindsay. The next couple in safety is Hannah and Alan. Sailor and Val, Kel and Witney, and Lauren and Gleb will return to the ballroom. The last couple declared safe is Kate and Pasha.

Ray and Cheryl are in the last two, as well as Mary and Brandon. It is the verdict of the judges. Cheryl chooses Mary and Brandon, while Bruno chooses Ray and Cheryl. This is down Len. He goes with Ray and Cheryl which means Mary and Brandon are the first DWTS couple to go home!
