Mask warrants boost the economy

Opponents of COVID-19 restrictions often argue that preventative rules would hurt the economy, but new study finds statewide mask warrants may actually be a boon. Salt Lake City Tribune reports that researchers at the University of Utah School of Business have determined that ordering masks makes consumers feel better about their purchases – so they visit more stores and spend more time in each one ‘them. The study authors found that state-wide warrants were more useful to the local economy than county orders. “What really stands out,” said Professor Nathan Seegert, “is that statewide mask warrants are much more effective in saving lives and livelihoods.”
