The Pinnacle Station, a training center added to the first Mass Effect, will not appear in Mass Effect: legendary edition alongside over 40 other downloadable content. Game Informant reports that the Pinnacle Station, created by Demiurge Studios for the first game, cannot be recovered due to data corruption.

Legendary edition repackages the original trilogy and all of its previously released content with new features and a major graphic overhaul. Talk to Game InformantGame Director Mac Walters said trying to save the DLC was an “emotional roller coaster” that involved contacting Demiurge and trying to get saves. The developer’s source code has been corrupted. The source code for the original code was also notoriously lost, which made it difficult for PlayStation 3 players to experience it when the game arrived on the platform.

The re-creation of the DLC would have taken six months with “most” of the Legendary editionthe team, Walters said. “I wish we could do it. Honestly, just because that’s supposed to be everything the team ever made, brought together again – all solo content. And so, leaving it all on the cutting room floor, it was heartbreaking.

Mass Effect: legendary edition launches May 14 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
