A Massachusetts man suspected of being linked to a New York bombing hoax surrendered to police in the Big Apple on Tuesday morning and is being questioned by investigators just a day after a Queens Mall in response to a suspicious Tesla with what emerged. be an explosive inside, according to officials and reports.
Louis Shenker called 911 around 3 a.m. and surrendered to authorities at a Brooklyn police station shortly thereafter as part of Monday morning’s bomb threat, police sources confirmed to Fox News. New York Police Department investigators were still questioning him at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
NYPD Assistant Counterterrorism Commissioner John Miller said police received a call shortly after 7:30 a.m. from the Queens Center Mall about a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle was reportedly left halfway up a ramp in the garage and parked in the center of the lane, preventing other cars from passing.

“They said there were propane tanks and wires sticking out of the vehicle,” he said. Police then registered and evacuated the area with assistance from the New York Fire Department as the city’s bomb squad investigated further.
“They were able to extricate this vehicle and determine that it was not an explosive device although, based on their expertise, it appears to be,” Miller said. “The bomb squad determined that it was a hoax device, which in their opinion means it was set up to look like a device.”
Police later tweeted a photo showing the “hoax device,” which appeared to consist of a roll of duct tape, cables, and a spray can, among other things. The photo shows the car was at least partially covered with cardboard or tarpaulin-like material. Police also discovered that a husky breed dog was inside the dark colored Tesla with a Nevada license plate on it.
Shenker was linked to an address in Brooklyn, a law enforcement source said, but has a personal address in Amherst, Massachusetts, the New York Daily News reported.
