A manhunt in New England continued Monday for a suspect who police say is responsible for a series of “random and unprovoked attacks” that left at least 10 men injured, including one American postman who was severely beaten on the job, as well as another victim who suffered a broken skull after being hit on the head with a bat.

The Waltham, Massachusetts Police Department – about 11 miles west of Boston – released two security camera footage on Saturday showing the suspect wearing a dark hoodie and jeans as he was running and walking in a street. Authorities described the suspect as a black man measuring between 5ft 6 and 5ft 10 and weighing between 160 and 180 pounds.

Police said the person in the video is responsible for a series of random and unprovoked attacks that have occurred since November 10. Five of the assaults occurred at the GardenCrest apartment complex between 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Signposted downtown by Chestnut and Charles streets.

The latest attack came on Friday when someone ran behind a man walking alone on a residential street, hit him in the face with a blunt weapon and fled into the dark. Police said the person responsible appears to be waiting and attacking the victims by surprise.

One victim, David Cameros, told WYCN-LD that he took his trash in the dumpster and stood outside smoking a cigarette when he was hit by what he believed to be a baseball in his building. He said he sustained a broken skull and shared photos with the station of his severely bruised eye and bandaged face.

Another victim was a U.S. letter carrier and following the attack, the U.S. Postal Service changed the carrier’s route to end before dark, WYCN-LD reported.
