A massive fire broke out at an apartment complex in San Antonio on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
The blaze started around 1 p.m. at the Bexar County compound, KSTAT reported.
Residents recalled receiving an alert to turn off their water heater, and the fire broke out on the second floor moments later, firefighters said.
About fifty residents were evacuated from the building.
Firefighters had to introduce water to extinguish the flames because a nearby fire hydrant was frozen, according to WOAI-TV.
Videos and photos on social networks shows black smoke flowing in the sky as fire crews work on the scene.
No injuries were reported. Officials continue to investigate the causes of the fire.
