Massive football exodus from Tennessee has begun

The news we’ve been waiting for is here. Tennessee football players are flocking to the transfer portal.

A mass exodus was expected after the University of Knoxville sacked Jeremy Pruitt and two motivated assistants after an internal investigation found that the program had committed numerous recruitment violations. Shortly after Phil Fulmer broke the news and his retirement, Dan Patrick shared that the cheating was so blatant that UT staff members gave rookies McDonald’s bags full of cash.

An actor involved in the investigation already says sayonara. Come back Eric Gray was suspended for the season finale as the university investigated his recruitment in Tennessee. Before running for 1,311 yards and eight touchdowns in two seasons at Tennessee, Gray was a one-off from Michigan.

The most attractive actor in the market is the former top 50 rookies Henry To’o To’o. The All-SEC linebacker is an athlete who can cover from sideline to sideline. Once a starter for the Vols as a true rookie, he made 140 tackles, including 12.5 loss, in just 23 career games. A player who would be accepted with open arms into any program across the country, 247 reports that the California native has four top contenders: USC, Alabama, Michigan and Georgia.

Crouching Quavaris was once America’s # 1 rookie in the 2019 recruiting class. An athlete who could play running back or linebacker, he ultimately chose Tennessee over Michigan to play defense in Knoxville. His decision to enlist in Tennessee was seen as a surprise in recruiting circles. I wonder what made him change his mind?

Offensive tackle Jahmir Johnson is the fourth volunteer to enter the portal since Tennessee’s End of the World. The former JUCO prospect started in 17 games over the past three seasons. It’s a plug and play option for a team in desperate need of a tackle.

These are just the first four to enter the portal this week. There have been a lot of other players who have already entered the transfer portal and there will surely be more who will volunteer to go to Tennessee.
