Massive offensive lineman Trevyon Green commits to UNC

North Carolina once again reached the Old Dominion State to add to its 2022 recruiting class. Massive offensive lineman Thursday Trevyon Green verbally committed at the heels of tar. The UNC class has three members and all three are Virginians.

In addition to UNC, Green, a 6-foot-7, 331-pounder from Life Christian Academy in South Chesterfield, Virginia, had collected scholarship offers from Boston College, Liberty, Maryland, Pittsburgh. , Virginia Tech, West Virginia and William. And Mary.

UNC initially offered Green on July 19, when the prospect attended the “Carolina Barbeque”. At the time, he was a 2021 rookie. He eventually decided to upgrade to the 2022 class. Green returned to Chapel Hill for the Jan. 25th UNC Junior Day. Then, last summer, heels were re-offered.

The decision to reclassify was due in large part to Green’s physical improvement. He had passed 400 pounds earlier in his high school career, which frightened many staff members. The reclassification allowed him to waste time. He eventually lost 70 pounds.

In addition to his three-star average, Green is ranked 51st in the nation’s offensive tackle and 16th in Virginia, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Green’s commitment pushes the UNC class up three places and into the top 15 of the 247Sports 2022 football team rankings.

Green joins a class that already included Old Dominion State products Tychaun chapman and Tayon Holloway.

North Carolina just finished an 8-4 season and an Orange Bowl berth in Mack Brown’s second season at Chapel Hill. The tar heels signed the recruiting class No. 14 in the country in December, which included two offensive linemen: Eli Sutton and Diego Pounds.
