Authorities continued Monday massive search for a hiker whose husband says that his dog and she "disappeared" from a California campground while he was parking their vehicle.
Sheryl Powell, 60, disappeared around 1 pm near Grandview Campground in the former Bristlecone Pine Forest area of the White Mountains. On Friday, her husband, Joseph Powell, informed the Inyo County Sheriff's Office.

The couple's son, Greg, wrote on Facebook Saturday that his parents "had found a campsite and she got out of the car with our dog to wait in the shade while he turned around and backed out on the hill".
When Joseph returned about five minutes later, Sheryl and a 5-pound Yorkipoo, Miley, had disappeared.
Joseph Powell told investigators that he had been looking for his wife for an hour before sending an SOS message via his satellite device.
Inyo County Search & Rescue and the Sheriff's Office wrote on Facebook that they immediately started looking for Sheryl.

Greg Powell expressed his frustration with the investigators who, he says, refuse to acknowledge the possibility of Sheryl being abducted.
"They continue to insist that she just lost herself," he wrote, adding that his mother had neither food nor water and that she was simply installing his camp.
He added that he thought that the authorities should investigate the possibility of kidnapping, but that on Saturday he was only investigating the suspects of his father and his mother's friends, which he has qualified as absurd.
"My parents have an extremely intimate relationship and my father (who refused to leave the campsite) is about to break down," Greg wrote.
