Unfortunately, everything that worked so well in the first film completely disappeared from the aftermath.
Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions may look like the first movie and the same characters may appear, but the entire soul of Matrix is just gone by the time the third movie runs. Reloaded and Revolutions relied on an abusive use of the visual deception introduced in The Matrix and on a complicated story that mounted Neo as a kind of computer Jesus computer and the only hope for all of human kind and robot.
These are movies that were not considered good at first and only worsen with age. They are the albatrosses hanging around the neck of the original. The matrix is an achievement at virtually every level. However, the films that followed did nothing more than pull it.
Does this seem a bit too hard for Reloaded and Revolutions? I assure you that I am not. In fact, I went back and watched the whole trilogy from beginning to end, and I could not help noticing all the mistakes I've felt in suites. From zany moments like orgy in Zion to the biggest problems such as what movies have chosen to do with Smith, there is something to be bored.
