He still knows kung fu.

Matrix 4, aka matrix resurrections, got its first trailer on Thursday, giving us clues as to what happened to Keanu Reeves ‘Neo and Carrie-Anne Moss’ Trinity in the sequel to The Matrix Revolutions in 2003. And it’s all on the air of White Rabbit from Jefferson Airplane.

The fourth film in the Matrix franchise hits theaters and HBO Max December 22. Official website teased trailer Tuesday, inviting you to take the red or blue pill. Depending on your choice and the time of day, you will be entitled to different sequences of the sci-fi adventure.

It continues the cyberpunk story started in the beloved 1999 original (two sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, followed in 2003). It’s directed by Lana Wachowski, but her sister Lilly Wachowski (who co-directed the original trilogy) hasn’t returned because she’s taking a hiatus from the film industry.

The film brings Jada Pinkett Smith, Lambert Wilson and Daniel Bernhardt back from the original trilogy. Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Ricci, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Jessica Henwick, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jonathan Groff are new to the franchise.

If you’re wondering if Laurence Fishburne’s Morpheus is missing from the trailer, Fishburne told New York Magazine last year that he wasn’t involved in the film. The character apparently was killed in The Matrix Online, but it’s unclear whether Resurrections will factor in the events of the 2005 massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Oddly enough, the anonymous character of Abdul-Mateen appears to have adopted the Morpheus style.
