According to a new report, Darren Beattie, former speechwriter and political assistant of the White House, will join the team of Matt Gaetz's representative at Capitol Hill.
Beattie, who was fired from the White House after learning that he had attended a conference reuniting white supremacists, will join Gaetz's office as a speechwriter, reports Axios. The second congressman is a Republican from Florida.
Gaetz's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Washington Examiner.
Beattie was ousted from the White House in August after CNN announced that he had been named speaker at the HL Mencken club conference in 2016. White supremacists, including Richard Spencer, had attended the conference .
