Matt Hardy leads Private Party at Impact to become top contenders

Kenny Omega is no longer the only AEW star to move to the Impact. Add Matt Hardy and Private Party to the list.

It started with Hardy and Private Party posting an announcement that they would appear tonight. Impact fight (January 19, 2021).

Their business revolved around the Impact World Tag Team Championship. Chris Sabin called on James Storm to declare himself the No.1 candidate for the Good Brothers, and that’s when Hardy and Private Party appeared.

Hardy was looking to book a private party in a warm-up match, so he could earn a 260% salary. Hardy wanted to jump the line for a title against the Good Brothers. Instead, it led to a fight against Sabin & Storm in the main event to earn a tag team championship opportunity. Interestingly, Hardy did not allow Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy to speak.

Also of note, Tony Khan returned with another paid ad. He was with Jerry Lynn in the impact zone. Khan asked Hardy to go to the Impact in response to Don Callis’ schemes. He wanted Hardy to get ahead of the Impact.

Khan and Lynn appeared at ringside to spot the main event.

In this match, Private Party took the victory via Gin and Juice. Hardy distracted the referee so Lynn could grab Sabin’s foot in preparation for the final maneuver.

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows applauded Private Party’s efforts. The Good Brothers entered the ring for a downcast look, and then the show ended with a brawl between the three teams.

There hasn’t been a date announcement yet for the big fight between Private Party and the Good Brothers for Impact tag team.

As for Kenny Omega and Don Callis, they will take a break from Impact to take care of AEW business.

This plan corresponds to AEW’s next PPV schedule Revolution February 27 and Impact’s Rebellion April 24.

What do you think of AEW’s next chapter with Impact? Do you like Private Party receive the call to perform on Impact fight?
