The Bears were blown away by the Packers on Sunday night, and head coach Matt Nagy’s initial response was to say the team needs to do some soul searching before they return to the field.
What Nagy’s search for after the game did not lead him to a Zen place on Monday. Nagy opened his press conference with a dazzling assessment of his team which called on every player and coach to show their “personal pride” in the wake of the team’s fifth consecutive loss.
“Yesterday was downright embarrassingNagy said, via Brad Biggs of Chicago Tribune. “This performance yesterday is ridiculous and cannot happen and obviously it starts with me.”
It also ends with Nagy, and the continued failures to stop the bleeding long enough to secure a win aren’t going to do much to recommend Nagy an extended stay in her current job.
