Matthew Koma finally speaks from his side of the story regarding the drama that he has lived with his former collaborator Zedd.
"I want to be transparent about this," Matthew wrote in a long post on his Instagram account. "It's a really sad truth because I'm extremely proud of the work that he and I have done together. Unfortunately, my good feelings towards these songs have almost disappeared because they were lived alongside someone so toxic and selfish that he occupied the space where happiness could exist. "
Matthew continue saying that Zedd took credit for writing the words "Spectrum" and "Clarity" when Matthew says that he wrote the words.
He goes on to claim that he would not be paid, that he would not have been credited in the interviews, that he would not have been invited to the Grammys with Zedd, and more.
"With millions and millions of dollars and so many hit songs, you would think you can treat people with kindness and appreciate their role in realizing your dream," added Matthew. "Ego, success, everything happened and was said before, especially in the context of music ….[I’d] Work instead at Starbucks and clean the toilets, never relive this abusive dynamic. Toxicity does not bring happiness.
Until there, Zedd did not answer. If you do not know, Matthew is committed to Hilary Duff, who wrote a favorable comment in the text of the message.
"It's so important for people who like music to know. Writers are exploited, ignored and abused. Proud of you for finally speaking ♥, " Hilary wrote.
