Auston Matthews has fond memories of visiting Mexico when he was growing up.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced that he and his family will travel to Hermosillo, his mother's hometown, Ema.
"We've always loved that, my sisters and I go and spend time with them," said Matthews, born in San Ramon, California and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. "It's obviously a different landscape."

"My mother's side comes from Hermosillo, about six hours south of Phoenix, where I went, grew a lot, I do not know how to describe it. They had a ranch about two hours away from their home in Hermosillo, so we went there and stayed there, with a lot of animals, and just do things different from what we did not do in Phoenix. "

"Most of them are currently living in the United States, whether in Arizona, Colorado, or California, they have come to know hockey a little more often, and they usually travel to the United States.
