The Mavericks continue to add coaches to head coach Jason Kidd’s new staff.

According to Marc Stein, the Mavericks are getting closer to hiring Igor Kokoskov and Greg St. Jean.

Coach Kokoskov will come from Turkish powerhouse Fenerbache. He has previous NBA experience as an assistant and one year as the Phoenix Suns head coach in 2018.

Aside from being widely regarded as one of the sharpest offensive minds in basketball, Kokoskov’s most notable achievement might be to pilot Slovenia to a Eurobasket championship in 2017. A team with a young Luka Doncic.

St. Jean will follow Kidd from Los Angeles. Although he has less profile and shares no connection with the team’s franchise player, he was part of a championship team with the Lakers.

The two join a squad that includes Coach Kidd as well as Sean Sweeney, Darrell Armstrong and others.
