Suddenly, the Saints of New Orleans have a hole in the middle of their offensive line.
As reported by the Yates Field of ESPN On Saturday, veteran center Max Unger retired from the NFL at the age of 32, ending a 10-year career with three appearances at the Pro Bowl and a Super Bowl Championship.

One of New Orleans' recent strengths was upstream cohesion, and Unger was literally at the center of it. Acquired as part of the exchange between Saints Jimmy Graham and the Seattle Seahawks in 2015, the long-time lineman won his first Pro Bowl as a member of the Saints in 2018. He also missed a single game in his four seasons with the team, from 16 years in 2017 and 2018.
Before arriving in New Orleans, Unger spent six years with the Seahawks and began his career as a goalkeeper outside of Oregon. He is widely recognized for his crucial role in the recovery of the O line of Saints, helping to maintain the perpetual quarterback of the Drew Brees Pro Bowl and fueling a precipitous attack under the colors of Alvin Kamara and the Ex-Saints Mark Ingram.
With Unger suddenly suspending the crampons, the Saints could be forced to give priority to the central position in 2019 NFL Draft. According to Rotoworld, Cameron Tom, free agent in 2017, would be an internal candidate to play the role of Unger. The former LSU center, Will Clapp, is also on the list of New Orleans players.
