Following Monday night’s overtime win over the Ravens, Raiders quarterback Derek Carr said he hoped people would praise his team’s defensive effort.

A member of the defense was singled out after the victory. The NFL announced on Wednesday that defensive end Maxx Crosby is the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Week.

The rush of Crosby’s pass was a big part of the reason the Raiders managed to pull off the 33-27 victory. He sacked Lamar Jackson twice and punched him five times while making six tackles and a pair of tackles for loss.

This is the second time that Crosby has been the Conference Defensive Player of the Week. He also landed the award in week 11 of the 2019 season.
