Maybe you do not keep your Apple card in a leather wallet, warns Apple

The new Apple's new credit card offers many features, such as clear statements, a refund program and extreme aesthetics. The flat white titanium design is reminiscent of Apple products, such as the iPhone and MacBook, which have been used for a decade. Although the card is compatible with Apple's virtual wallet, it is apparently not compatible with your wallet.

The Apple card has become available to all US consumers with compatible iPhones earlier this week. It's mainly a virtual card running in the Wallet app, but it's also a full-fledged MasterCard, backed by Goldman Sachs, and the holders of card can request a physical card to accompany their virtual card.

The digital nature of the card is clear in the company's Physical Card Handling Guide, which includes handling, maintenance, and cleaning tips that unfortunately work against the way everyone uses or stores his credit card.

Apple advises consumers to keep the card in "a wallet, pocket or bag made of soft material" and place it "in a location in your wallet or wallet without touching another credit card". avoid that it is scratched.

That is, unless you take a leather wallet, as tens of millions of consumers do. But putting it right in your pants pocket is also a no-no if you wear jeans, as the vast majority of Americans sometimes do. The damage is only cosmetic. the card will always work at the point of sale if you dare to keep it in your wallet. If you want to keep looking new, Apple recommends wiping it gently with isopropyl alcohol (rubbing) with a soft microfiber cloth.
