To the delight of die-hard McDonald’s fans, the fast food chain has just announced the return of McRib. Marking the 40th anniversary of the iconic sandwich, the McRib will be available nationwide on November 1 for a limited time only.
Debuting four decades ago in Kansas City (1981), the McRib has continued to be a fan favorite in the United States and internationally. Representing a unique intersection between food and pop culture, the sandwich is known for its boneless pork patty seasoned and seasoned with barbecue sauce, topped with minced onions and dill pickles, served on a homemade bun.
“In the 1980s, the brains behind McDonald’s food innovation came up with a truly unique idea: an undeniably delicious sandwich that could be enjoyed in the colder seasons,” said Mike Bullington, senior director of archives at McDonald’s. “Whether you’re a McRib devotee or a newbie, there’s no denying that McRib is one of the most iconic sandwiches of the past four decades and we’ve got thousands of emails and fan tweets to prove it. ”
The McRib will be available in the US on November 1 for a limited time at participating McDonald’s restaurants via take-out, drive-thru, on the McDonald’s app and via McDelivery.
