Meet Detroit Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell Part 1

[ad_1]

For the past two months, we’ve been featuring weekly profiles of Detroit Lions candidates for GM and Head Coach positions on our podcast. We talked about Marvin Lewis to Rick Smith to Brian Daboll But now that the Lions have finally made their choices to both positions, we don’t have to talk about the candidates anymore. We can talk about real guys.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell will speak to the media for the first time Thursday at 11 a.m. ET, but we wanted to know him better ahead of time. So we spoke to Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post, who has been playing Dolphins beat for decades.

He was there when Dan Campbell took over as interim head coach in 2015, and he even wrote a few articles on why he thought Campbell should have gotten the full-time job in 2016. Wednesday , he also wrote a column calling Campbell “the one who escaped.”

So we asked him why he thought Campbell could be a great head coach, how he turned the Dolphins almost immediately into a competitive team, and how he differentiates between being intense but also knowing when to stop the gas.

This is the first part of our podcast series, as we follow Campbell’s coaching career and what got him to where he is today.

You can watch the PODcast on any of your favorite podcast platforms, or you can watch reruns of the stream on Twitch or YouTube (with bonus content).
