The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery draw climbed to around $ 432 million, potentially making it the 10th largest in gaming history.

The winning numbers were: 20, 43, 51, 55 and 57. The Mega Ball draw was 4 with a 2x megaplicator.

While no one hit Friday’s $ 401 million jackpot, a $ 1 million bill was sold in Texas. It matched five digits but not the Mega Ball.

in New Jersey, a $ 10,000 third prize ticket was purchased at Food Station on Elm Avenue in Woodbury Heights, lottery officials said. It matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball.

The winning numbers on New Years Day were: 8, 24, 53, 68 and 69. The drawn Mega Ball was seven.

The last time a lottery player won the top Mega Millions jackpot was on September 15, 2020, when a $ 120 million ticket was sold in Wisconsin. Two big jackpots were won in New Jersey in 2020. An anonymous winner claimed the $ 202 million prize won on February 11 with a ticket sold to Edison and a $ 124 million ticket was purchased in Bayonne for the July 24 draw.

Mega Millions tickets cost $ 2 each and in New Jersey must be purchased by 10:45 p.m. on the night of the draw. The odds of a ticket hitting the jackpot by matching five numbers and the Mega Ball are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a shot of 1 in 12,607,306 to win the second prize of at least $ 1 million by matching five numbers.

Mega Millions is played in 45 states, Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.

The New Jersey Lottery office in Lawrence is open to the public by appointment. You can still claim your winnings – provided they’re less than $ 599.50 – in person at any retailer.

The lottery also accepts mailed claims, although officials warn that payments could be temporarily delayed. Winners are encouraged to make copies of the claim form and the winning ticket for their records.
