Not many people can say they have Beyoncé’s contact details on their phone, but Megan Thee Stallion certainly can.

Since meeting on a New Years Eve party 2020, Bey and Megan have maintained a close friendship that has grown steadily. While they haven’t hung out like normal friends due to the coronavirus pandemic, the superstars have grown closer in the past year or so. So much so that Megan contacts Beyoncé whenever she needs advice.

Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé’s friendship began in early 2020 when the two met at a New Years Eve party hosted by the “Halo” singer and her husband Jay-Z.

In an interview with Variety in August 2020, the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper opened up about the meeting, sharing that she and Bey hit it off instantly.

“In the first five minutes of the conversation, I felt like I had known her my whole life,” she told the publication. “She treated me like family, and now I feel like family. We talk all the time.

Megan even commemorated the night by sharing photo booth images of herself, Beyoncé, and singer Blue Ivy’s eldest daughter from the party to her Instagram.

But the superstars have not stopped crossing paths there.

A few months later, Beyoncé hopped on the remix of Megan’s hit song “Savage”, which was widely praised by listeners. The rapper even gushed about the collaboration on Instagram live, sharing how amazing it was that she got to work with the singer, whom she and her late mother have always idolized.

“It’s really crazy because, like, my mom was a really big Beyoncé fan, and she used to make me watch a lot of Beyoncé stuff,” she said, according to Access. “I didn’t mean to say, ‘Oh my God, Beyoncé, my mom and I love you!

Megan Thee Stallion has always admired Beyoncé

Even though it was only a matter of time before Megan and Beyoncé crossed paths, the rapper still can’t believe she’s part of the Training inner circle of the singer.

By appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in December 2020, the “Cry Baby” rapper said she was still amazed that she was good friends with Bey. She also revealed how close to the singer means to her.

“I remember the first time I saw Destiny’s Child live, it was at the rodeo, and it was just amazing. And I remember being a little kid like, ‘Wow! I want to do this someday, ”she said. “And being just from Houston, you have to know what Beyoncé means to us. She’s like the norm. So, to be able to talk to Beyoncé now, I’m like, ‘Girl! Pat on the back. ‘”

Megan Thee Stallion receives advice from Beyoncé and Jay-Z

Aside from the fact that Beyoncé is someone she has always admired, Megan revealed that the singer was also one of the people she turned to for advice.

“I would say Jay-Z gives some funny advice. Say if I’m having a bad day he’ll say, ‘Megan, girl, you’ve got to be driving the boat somewhere. Come. Come on, have a good time, ”she told Colbert. “You know what I’m saying? He gives me like, the hottest girl advice.”

As for Queen Bey? “Beyoncé is like, ‘Look, queen, get right on top,’” Megan said. “She says it in the best way.”

Leave it to Beyoncé to make anyone feel empowered!
