Meghan Markle is she a princess?

Some fans say she is a princess of the people, like her mother-in-law, Princess Diana. However, the Royal Family has never referred to Meghan Markle as a true princess – until now.

Although it is not its official royal title, "princess" is the official occupation of Meghan Markle in the United Kingdom. And the birth certificate of his son proves just that. In the section titled "Mother", Meghan Markle is named Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex. And, just below, her occupation reads as "Princess of the United Kingdom".

Meghan Markle is not the only non-princess to register "Princess of the United Kingdom" as a profession.

The Duchess of Sussex is not the first Duchess to have listed her princess profession. In addition to Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton is also officially a princess of the United Kingdom, based on the birth certificates of her children. That said, unlike the Duchess of Sussex, Kate Middleton will probably be "princess" one day.

When Prince Charles accedes to the throne, he will make his heir apparent, Prince William, Prince of Wales. This automatically means that Kate Middleton is destined for Princess of Wales. There is a lot of debate as to whether Kate Middleton will use the title or not. Camilla Parker Bowles is the current Princess of Wales, but does not respect him out of respect for Princess Diana, as she is closely related to the late Princess Diana. However, some argue that she is the ideal person to hold the title and that this could be one of the many ways she and Prince William pay homage to their mother and mother-in-law.

Why is Meghan Markle's first name inscribed in the birth certificate of her son?

If the name "Rachel" has baffled you, you are not alone. In fact, according to the Duchess of Sussex, her name has been confused most of her life. "I never called her, but my parents named me Rachel Meghan Markle. All the legal documents of my life have been confused, "she told a reporter in 2013.

We do not know why Meghan Markle has not officially changed her name to Meghan. However, she officially gave the surname "Markle" (although the press and the public always call it – and probably still – will call it that way). In the royal family, persons with the status of His Royal Highness are not obliged to provide a surname. That is why you will probably never see the family name of the Royal Family, Mountbatten-Windsor stuck to his in a legal document. Instead, Meghan Markle will continue to use "Rachel Meghan, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex" as the name on her legal documents – unless of course she does not part with Rachel.
