Meghan Markle is officially a princess, according to Baby Archie's birth certificate

Although her official royal title is Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex, the United Kingdom regards Meghan Markle as a princess. After the arrival of Archie, the son of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, documents reveal that the Duchess of Sussex is in fact a princess of the United Kingdom. We share the details below.

Meghan Markle is she a princess?

Some fans say she is a princess of the people, like her mother-in-law, Princess Diana. However, the Royal Family has never referred to Meghan Markle as a true princess – until now.

Although it is not its official royal title, "princess" is the official occupation of Meghan Markle in the United Kingdom. And the birth certificate of his son proves just that. In the section titled "Mother", Meghan Markle is named Rachel Meghan Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Sussex. And, just below, her occupation reads as "Princess of the United Kingdom".

Meghan Markle is not the only non-princess to register "Princess of the United Kingdom" as a profession.

The Duchess of Sussex is not the first Duchess to have listed her princess profession. In addition to Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton is also officially a princess of the United Kingdom, based on the birth certificates of her children.
