Meghan Markle News: Duchess changes yet another Harry's jewelry gift | Royal | New

The Duchess of Sussex was dazzled in Jason Wu's almost transparent black dress, but eagle-eyed royal observers spotted a change in her diamond earrings. The Nikos Koulis designer earrings, worth £ 10,000, supposed to be a gift from Harry after the birth of their first child, Archie Harrison, appeared to have been changed by 37-year-old Meghan. The color last month, however, at the Queen's birthday celebration, it was without the new black enamel case.

A royal fan wrote on Twitter: "Now I am even more convinced that the earrings Meghan wears are Harry's push gift.

"She first wore this garment in Trooping, but this time it's like she's covered with Onyx.

"Wow Harry is a winner!"

This is not the first time that an important gift is changed by Meghan after improving her engagement ring.

The diamond-paved eternity ring was worn for the first time by Meghan in November 2018.

The sparkling piece was designed by Harry himself and includes two diamonds from his late mother, Princess Diana.

However, after his appearance at several royal engagements, it appeared that the thick gold band had been replaced by a thinner band lined with diamonds.

Ingrid Seward, royal commentator and author, insists that the move is "a little strange" and a "piece of history" that should not be changed.

She told The Sun's Fabulous, "I find it a little strange that Meghan wants to change a ring that her husband has specially designed for her.

"A royal engagement ring is a piece of history, not a gem to be updated when it looks old fashioned."

Speaking at the time of their engagement, Harry said: "The ring is obviously in yellow gold as it is its favorite and the main stone itself comes from Botswana and the small diamonds on each side come from my mother's jewelry collection, to make sure she's with us on this crazy journey together. "

Meghan added, "Everything about Harry's thinking and the inclusion of Princess Diana's stones and her inability to meet her mother is so important for me to know that she is one of them."

The royal couple will be able to visit the origins of the ring when the family of three will participate in their first royal trio engagement during their trip to South Africa in the fall.

The Duke also conducts solo tours to Angola, Malawi and Botswana.
