Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will no longer serve as patrons for several organizations after their royal exit is confirmed.

At the start of 2020, the two men announced that they would be leaving royal life and agreed to reverse their decision in a year. Following their move to California, they chose to make their lives permanent outside of their royal duties.

In a statement issued Friday by Buckingham Palace, it was revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “will be returned to Her Majesty, before being redistributed among the active members of the Royal Family”.

Sponsorships, according to the Royal Family website, “generally reflect the interests of the royal family member involved.”

The foundation confirmed that the royal will maintain his post in a declaration published earlier Friday, noting that he was “built on his ideas” and that he “remains fully committed” to the organization.
