This week again, Meghan Markle celebrated a milestone: her 40th birthday. To celebrate the day, the Duchess of Sussex surprised her fans with an unexpected video detailing her new 40 × 40 initiative alongside Melissa McCarthy. And while the royal is all about cuteness, we can’t say we’re surprised Meghan has decided to ignore her father Thomas Markle’s birthday present this year. TBH, we don’t blame her for a second.
Meghan’s father took to the press again to share the news that he had sent the royal a bouquet of birthday flowers. Talk to TMZ, Thomas added that he also sent a personalized card that read: “I wish you a happy birthday and better days.” And, reports TMZ, according to Thomas, he “didn’t hear a glance from Meghan after sending the gift” but is not disturbed.

The bouquet itself was reportedly designed to feature a dozen red roses with two yellows in the middle – in honor of Meghan and Prince Harry’s two children, Archie and Lilibet. Meghan’s father told the outlet he made an effort to incorporate his grandchildren into the gift because he would like to be a part of their life.
While this is apparently a nice gesture, we can’t help but wonder why Thomas has, once again, gone out of his way to give the audience the opportunity to punch his daughter. It’s one step forward and two steps back, folks! It seems to us that if Thomas really wanted to work on his relationship with his daughter, he had better not tell the press about the intimate details of their family – and do the hard work required in private, without updating the press from. each of his movements.
