The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, aka Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, basically delighted everyone with their surprise pregnancy announcement on Valentine’s Day. The two have announced that they are going to make baby Archie, one year old, a big brother. Now, thanks to a recent update, we know the Little Tyke is going to get this important title much sooner than expected.
Today, Weekly US announced that an anonymous source confirmed that the new royal baby will be making his grand entrance in just a few months, sharing this statement: “Harry and Meghan have always wanted a couple of children – a little brother or a little sister for Archie , and they enthusiastically plan for the arrival of their bundle of joy. It’s a dream come true…. Meghan got pregnant again late last year. The baby is expected at the end of spring.
The news of the pregnancy is especially sweet, given that the Duchess has been very public about her previous pregnancy loss last year. In an essay she wrote for The New York Times, she revealed the impact of this loss on her and Prince Harry. In the moving play, she wrote that she believes all conversations around healing should start by asking the question, “Are you okay?”

In the essay, she detailed the immeasurable, but common heartache of losing a pregnancy. “In pain of our loss, my husband and I discovered that in a room of 100 women, 10-20 of them would have suffered a miscarriage,” she writes. “Yet despite the staggering commonality of this pain, the conversation remains taboo, riddled with (unwarranted) shame and perpetuating a cycle of lonely mourning.
Meghan and Harry have also been very public about their desire to remain private since the birth of baby Archie – going so far as to move to the United States in order to put some distance between them and the rest of the royal family – which is why We are so excited to see the news being shared publicly.
We’re not the only ones feeling this, either: Prince Harry’s royal grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, can’t wait to be great-grandmother again. “His Majesty, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales and the whole family are ‘delighted’ and wish them good luck,” reads a statement issued by Buckingham Palace. We can’t wait to see all of the new royal cousins reunite once the pandemic is over. There has been a fairly recent baby boom in this family, answering the unasked question of what they all did to keep busy during the lockdown.
The most recent royal will hold dual citizenship and be 8th to the throne.
