Melissa McCarthy to star with husband Ben Falcone in Netflix sitcom Favorite God Idiot … after directing Thunder Force movie for the streaming giant
They just made a movie called Thunder Force for Netflix.
And now, the wife-husband duo of Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone are preparing a workplace sitcom for the streaming service.
Melissa, 50, plays with her husband on God’s favorite idiot whom he also creates, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Netflix has ordered a 16-episode first season of the series, which stars Ben as a character called Clark Thompson.
Ben’s character apparently has to juggle his appointment as the Lord’s Messenger on Earth with a job in tech support.
He’s also reportedly engaged in a workplace romance on the sitcom, which also appears to have an apocalyptic element.
Ben wrote and directed Thunder Force, a superhero comedy starring Melissa alongside Oscar-winning actresses Octavia Spencer and Melissa Leo.

In fact, when Octavia won her Oscar for The Help, she beat her fellow contestant Melissa who got a Best Supporting Actress sign for Bridesmaids.
Although the film finished principal photography last year, Netflix has yet to publicly announce its release date.
Melissa and Ben married in 2005 and have worked together several times since, including on the 2014 flop film Tammy.

The showbiz power couple co-wrote Tammy, which Ben directed and in which Melissa starred alongside Susan Sarandon.

Superintellence was directed by Ben who also has a supporting role in the film, which stars Melissa opposite Will And Grace, idiot Bobby Cannavale.
