Mercedes-AMG G63 competes with Jeep Trackhawk in SUV drag racing

We have occasionally seen the delicately square Mercedes-AMG G63 on video, deploying all its strength for drag racing and speed racing on the highway. We also saw the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk monsters, especially in the hands of the Texas Hennessey Performance tuner embarrassing supercars with his Hellcat V8. This video of Gumbal on YouTube finally brings these performance SUVs together for a run of one-on-one drag racing on a short track. But like any good video game, the G63 must defend itself from several attackers before fighting against the final boss.

The clip opens with the side of the G63 slab taking a family member in the form of an E63 AMG. It seems that the sedan could win at the very end, but without perspective of the finish line, it's hard to say. The next taker is a sinister Audi R8 Spyder, and in this case, we mean quite a bad – why would not he brandish a horned skull on his grille?

The look is reminiscent of something we saw on a vintage Cadillac rolling in the Texas Panhandle, but it manages to infuse the R8 with dark power as it jumps off the line and pushes the G63 to the finish line. A less intimidating R8 is the next competitor of the G63, and it seems that the lack of skull has an effect. The G63 gets a slight jump from the line, but the R8 can not tell the difference.

Finally, we arrive at the main event and we learn that this threatening black Jeep is apparently not an ordinary trackhawk. Renowned tuner Manhart has tweaked his design and does not know exactly how much power the SUV makes, but we suspect he does not call the GC800 just for the sake of it. What big muscle SUV will take this battle? We'll be the first to admit that the G63 has something of a mountain to climb against the Trackhawk, but that's what the G-Class does best.
