A few months ago, Mercedes-Benz introduced its new GLB CUV compact for 2021 (with seven optional seats), which is scheduled to be installed in the company's factory in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Like everything Mercedes-Benz does today, the Mercedes-AMG version of a new car is not long in coming. The new GLB 35 AMG arrives, with four turbocharged maniaco with a capacity of 306 horsepower and 295 lb-ft and two for seven people.

In a continuous reduction of the gaps between the segments, the GLB is obviously between the GLA and the GLC. That said, GLA 45 and GLC 43 are more powerful. The GLB 35 essentially uses a pump version [from 221 hp and 269 lb-ft] the engine of the GLB 250. It uses this engine wisely, however, because this family carrier will go from 0 to 100 km / h in just 5.1 seconds and is limited to a maximum speed of 100 km / h.

Naturally, you'll get an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox in the new AMG, coupled with the standard 4Matic all-wheel drive. The suspension of the car has been completely redesigned to allow a more appropriate handling expected of an AMG product. The new steering knuckles and control arms reduce roll, while the optional AMG Ride Control electronic dampers make it even better. It has been said that comfort over long distances is a priority, with high cornering capabilities and low roll.

And it would not be an AMG product without big four-piston brakes. These silver-painted calipers are hidden behind a set of beautiful 19-inch multi-spoke wheels, painted in gray titanium. The car is available with optional wheels of 20 and 21 inches, natch.

This is the first time that the AMG-specific vertical grille is used on a 35-series AMG. This classic grille looks very good on this model, so I'm quite honest with you. As a CUV, this one is actually quite attractive. Without the plastic casing of the wheel wells, it would probably have a better rendering. Door handles with chrome accents are always a bad idea, but it's not bad.

Although it is absolutely absurd that we are already talking about a 2021 model car and that we are still in summer 2019, this car will make its world debut next month at the Frankfurt Motor Show. You can expect the car to reach US dealers by the end of 2020.

With the GLA 45 AMG priced at $ 53,350 and the GLC starting at $ 57,000 even, you can expect the GLB 35 AMG to divide the difference somewhere.
