Another advantage of MBUX is the Extra Augmented Video option, which is a useful addition to navigation. This includes road signs, information on where to turn, house numbers or names. This greatly facilitates orientation – such as finding a particular address.

The revised voice control system makes operation even more convenient and natural. On voice command, the driver can ask the system to read text messages, operate audio systems or access vehicle functions, such as the air conditioning system, for example. The system does not require any stored commands – the user has the freedom, for example, to formulate the desired destination address or the question of the improvised weather report. What else is possible now: the activation of voice control with the help of the prompt "Hey Mercedes". The talk button on the steering wheel is also available for this purpose.

The new features of the GLC are the standard form KEYLESS-GO startup function that uses the start-stop button with turbine appearance and the ability to activate the driving assistance systems on the multimedia screen. The user selects and activates the driving modes via the DYNAMIC SELECT switch on the center console. The multimedia display indicates different driving modes depending on the equipment concerned. The driver can choose from various preconfigured and individual driving modes. Depending on the powertrain and the suspension variant, five to seven driving modes are available. Stricter requirements and lower limit values ​​- the OM 654 four-cylinder diesel engine is designed to further reduce fuel consumption and emissions, reduce operating costs and improve engine performance.

The most important components of the exhaust gas treatment system are directly mounted on the engine to effectively reduce emissions. In addition, subsequent thermal insulation measures and coatings, such as SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology, result in further emission reductions. To further reduce nitrogen oxide emissions under higher loads, the OM 654 is equipped with an additional SCR underfloor catalyst. As a result, the engine already complies with Real Drive Emissions (RDE) requirements.

The OM 654 four-cylinder diesel engine is combined with the 4MATIC all-wheel drive and the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, which offers both dynamic driving and fuel economy.

DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL: custom suspension

With the update of the model, the GLC is for the first time equipped with the suspension DYNAMIC BODY CONTROL with infinitely adjustable dampers for the front and rear axles.
