Mercedes EQXX looks like the engineering exercise to push electric cars into the future

Merc says he used his F1 know-how to develop the EQXX with a “multidisciplinary team comprising experts from Mercedes-Benz’s F1 High Performance Powertrain division”, and that this division “is making rapid progress towards the ambitious goals of the project”.

While we won’t see the full EQXX look until 2022, this teaser is pretty revealing. It will very clearly be a compact coupe with a flowing roofline, which tapers towards the rear. I wouldn’t expect the company to expect to sell hundreds of thousands of these things, but focusing on efficiency with an uncompromising approach has as much engineering experience as a track car. or hypercar as will the Mercedes-AMG One.
