METAL IN PLANE ENGINE: Aircraft Landed in Raleigh after Engine Failure

RALEIGH – An engine failure aboard the Delta 1425 flight Monday between Atlanta and Baltimore forced the plane to land at Raleigh.

"After hearing the boom, we saw all the smoke rising in the cabin and we started to panic," said passenger Avery Porch.

On the outside of the cabin windows, passengers could see that a piece of metal had been sucked into an engine.

Flight attendants asked passengers to bend down and prepare for landing.

The more than 150 people on board were OK.
