Meteor shower: Meteors observed in several states, including North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA (WTVD) – The Internet was buzzing after a meteor was discovered across the sky in several states, including North Carolina, on Thursday morning.

According to the American Meteor Society, more than 300 sightings have been reported.

It was seen in the western part of the state of Tar Heel around 6:50 am Thursday morning.

Residents of Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia also reported attending the prom.

The National Weather Service reports that another meteor was spotted in Florida before Saturday at midnight.
