Six subway stations south of Reagan National Airport have been closed all summer. From this morning, they are reopened with new lights, new platforms and … new fonts?
The seller in charge of the new signaling of the metro station will repair it, but until then, runners are on both sides of the fence with this problem. For most people, it does not matter. In this area, however, with many eagle-eyed riders mentally altering new signage, incorrect fonts are a bit annoying.
I'm ready to bring up hell on a number of #wmata things, but the problem of the fonts bothers me very stupidly visceral. I ask for a better monitoring of the choice of fonts! @JWPascale

I know that it is impossible for me to be able to read the sign in a font other than the weight of the WMATA approved font.

Three wickets blocked and only one side of the platform is usable in Springfield. I can see why Wiedefeld made his announcements to Braddock. Oh, and the police are always wrong. #wmata

As you can see in these tweets, the new lettering is a little too thick and cheerful, IMHO.

Six #wmata Blue & Yellow stations in the north of the state of Virginia, such as Braddock Road, have reopened today, after a summer project to improve platforms and the like. @WashInformer pic.twitter.com/hKjl8PIMDz

Oh … it could be worse!
What do you think about the font problem on the new Metro signage? Is it sufficiently worthy of the name to affect your movements or just another quirk in the WMATA landscape? Sound off in the comments!
