Terror of the metroids is the fifth entry in the original Metroid series and it’s coming to Nintendo Switch in October.
As already detailed, this is the first Metroid game with a new story in about 19 years and continues the story of the interconnected destinies of famous bounty hunter Samus Aran and the Metroids. It also happens to be the conclusion of this particular story arc.
However, there is no need to worry about the potential end of this main series. Shortly after the E3 reveal, producer Yoshio Sakamoto told Japanese publication Famitsu how there was more to come – teasing “future episodes,” while at the same time reiterating that it was all about. of the “final chapter” of this particular story arc for Samus.
Here’s the full translation, courtesy of Nintendo Everything:
“This is the last chapter in the series so far, the final chapter on shared fate and the conflicted relationship Samus shares with the Metroid. This is not the end of the Metroid series. We don’t want any that, I’m sure fans don’t want that, and we hope you look forward to what’s to come in the next few episodes. “
Sakamoto previously mentioned how the team hoped players would “wonder” what exactly the end of the story arc meant while playing Metroid Dread:
“The series has chronicled the strange relationship between these Metroids and the heroine Samus, but this game will mark the end of this story arc.
“We hope fans of the show will wonder ‘what does’ mark the end of the story arc’ mean? “while they are playing the game.”
What do you think Samus’ future adventures might look like when this current arc ends? How would you like to see the main Metroid series evolve in the future? Leave your thoughts below.
