Sadly, Skye received more horrible news: she had developed a second form of cancer, this time post-lymphoproliferative transplantation, which occurs in less than 1% of bone marrow transplant recipients. However, after chemotherapy and more bone marrow transplants, Skye did it.

At one point, both families Ryals and Skye contacted Be the Match saying that they would like to meet each other. Their relationship began with email, followed by a phone call and a lot of text messages.
When Skye's birthday arrived, Ryals sent him a gift with an invitation to be his little page at his wedding.
"We were very surprised at how sweet it was," said Savren-McCormick
