Teenagers spend three quarters of their video consumption between Netflix and YouTube. In addition, Instagram has taken the place of Snapchat as the social network most used by this demographic group in the United States, according to a study by consultant Piper Jaffray.

The annual survey examines trends in the consumption of adolescents aged 16 on average and reveals their activities, their chains of stores and their favorite brands.

According to Piper Jaffray, Instagram and other image-based apps are at the forefront of teenagers' use. With an 85% preference, Instagram is already better than Snapchat, which has 84%, and both are well above Twitter (47%) and Facebook (36%).

Teens spend 38% of their daily video consumption on Netflix, a decline from the survey conducted by the company last spring, while this percentage was 39%. Respondents' second favorite platform was YouTube, with 33% of daily time, doubling the time spent watching cable or satellite television (16%).
